Simpson Building Contractors is proud to be the title sponsor of the Royals Senior & Junior Baseball Teams this season and into the future, deepening its roots in the Fredericton and Marysville community and continuing a tradition of supporting local sports and youth development. As a locally owned and operated company, Simpson has always taken pride in being part of the communities it helps shape.

For company owner Kirk White, this partnership is more than just a corporate sponsorship—it’s personal.

“My father was a pitcher in the senior league for 20 years through the 70s and 80s,” said White. “He was inducted into the New Brunswick Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010, so growing up, baseball was always a big part of our lives.”

While Kirk never played for the senior Royals himself, he spent years playing recreational ball in his younger days, later joining an intermediate league—and his love for the game never left. “Many of my friends have played for the Royals over the years, and now my own kids are proudly wearing the Royals jersey in Little League,” he added.

The connection to Royals Field runs deep. Located in the heart of Marysville—known fondly as “The Ville”—it’s where Kirk’s father was born and raised, along with his siblings and many members of their extended family. “It’s not just a baseball field to us—it’s a place full of family memories, community pride, and generations of tradition.”

From a company perspective, supporting the Royals is a natural extension of Simpson Building Contractors’ values. “Many of our staff are lifelong sports fans, and some have played for the Royals or have strong ties to the Ville,” said White. “At Simpson, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us—not just by constructing buildings, but by helping build community spirit.”

“There’s also a strong connection between construction and baseball,” added White. “Both take teamwork, discipline, and a shared goal. Supporting the Royals just made sense. It’s about keeping traditions alive, supporting local athletes, and preserving a piece of our community’s identity and passing it on to the next generation.”

White sees the ballpark as more than just a field. “It’s a place where kids can get outside, look up to positive role models, and feel like they’re part of something bigger. In a world where screens often compete for their attention, local sports offer something real and lasting.”

There’s nothing like a summer evening at Royals Field—the crack of the bat, the smell of burgers and hot dogs on the grill, and the buzz of friends catching up between innings. It’s the kind of place where kids chase foul balls, parents cheer from lawn chairs, and families make memories together — sharing stories that inspire the next generation of players.

Simpson Building Contractors is honoured to stand behind the Royals as they take the field this season and looks forward to seeing the community come together in the stands.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome Simpson Building Contractors as our title sponsor for the Royals,” said Jody Peterson, President of the Fredericton Royals. “Their deep roots in the community, connection to our baseball history, and unwavering support for local sports make this a truly special partnership. This isn’t just about a logo on a jersey—it’s about community, tradition, and building something lasting together.”

So grab a chair, bring the kids, and come be part of something special.

We hope to see you at the field.Let’s play ball.
